Project Wallich: Kyoto Serenity in the Sky. A Japanese Oasis for Discerning Expat Living
When a Tokyo client sought her “home away from home” in Singapore’s iconic Wallich Residence, we crafted a sanctuary fusing minimalist elegance with ingenious storage. Embracing traditional Japanese principles:
🌿 Tatami Harmony: A raised platform layered with authentic Igusa-mat flooring.
🛋️ Zen-Meets-Function: Custom sofa with built-in storage + floating wall cabinets doubling as display ledges for Ikebana.
Ambient glow from recessed ceiling LEDs replaced harsh lighting, while woven-rattan cabinet fronts softened clean lines. The client’s reaction:
“You captured the soul of Japan in this vertical jewel box—every corner breathes calm and purpose.”
